Dial Up
Most are familiar with dial
up. It requires a phone line, and doesn't offer
much in the way of speeds. Maximum 56 K.
However, it does offer access to the internet for a
minimal price. Your phone is busy while
applications such as text emails and limited surfing can
still be accomplished.
Wireless Broadband
Service can be provided to
both residential and business customers. Line of
sight (LOS) required from repeater site to end user.
Externally mounted antennas are often required; however,
desktop setup similar to DSL and cable. Customers
will be able to utilize VPN, video and networking
solutions without customary limitations.

Cable Pipeline
Reasonable for residential
service while business applications are limited. Residential
with equipment leasing averages around
$49.95 per month. Business averages about $130.00 per
month. Pricing varies by
region. Upload/Download speeds differ, advertised
speeds represent only aggregate available speeds. Service is
affected by the quality of the cable line, and is
generally not
considered business grade broadband. Cable pipelines
have VPN and video limitations.
Satellite
Typically a last resort residential
service package that is not designed for business. Generally
high installation costs with poor service speeds, long
lag periods, and high month costs make Satellite one of
the most expensive option in the telecommunication industry.
Again both VPN and video limitations; however
it has become an increasingly desirable product for TV service.
